Description
In a climate-ravaged future New York City, three teenagers descended from refugees of the lost African utopia of Nubia begin to discover extraordinary powers linked to their hidden heritage. As they struggle to survive in the flooded, marginalized neighborhoods below the city’s privileged skybound enclave, they uncover secrets that challenge everything they know about their families and their past. Pursued by powerful forces seeking to control their abilities, the trio must decide whether their inheritance will help liberate their community or become a means of escape. Blending Afrofuturism, epic fantasy, and urgent themes of displacement, environmental crisis, class division, identity, and collective responsibility, the novel offers a compelling vision of a world—and a generation—on the brink of transformation.
