Description
In the shadowy world where fear spreads faster than facts, *Rabid* explores how outbreaks—real and imagined—take hold of communities and reshape the way people live, work, and trust one another. Through vivid reporting and compelling storytelling, the book traces the forces behind contagion, from the biology of disease to the social dynamics that determine who gets heard, who gets protected, and who gets left behind. It examines themes of public health, misinformation, and the uneasy balance between individual behavior and collective responsibility. With a sharp, investigative style that blends urgency with insight, the authors reveal how quickly a crisis can become a culture—and why understanding the mechanics of spread matters long after the headlines fade.

dnf at 20%. this is all over the place, poorly written, and has dog shit pacing. it’s like the two authors were in combat over what to include or cut and the disagreement was palpable. not the right book for me about rabies and certainly not a good one in general.
