A Suitable Vengeance

Mystery Detective Fiction Psychological Thriller

Description

At his family’s Cornwall estate, Inspector Thomas Lynley brings his fiancée, Deborah, to meet the relatives and friends who have shaped his complicated past. When the murder of a local journalist—and a second death—disrupts the gathering, Lynley and forensic scientist Simon Allcourt-St. James are drawn into an investigation that reaches uncomfortably close to home. Against a backdrop of strained loyalties, concealed desire, family estrangement, and damaged relationships, the case exposes the crimes of the heart as vividly as any evidence. Set before the earliest Lynley investigations, this richly character-driven mystery offers an intimate look at the histories and connections behind Elizabeth George’s celebrated detectives.
