Firestorm

Description

When a wildfire rages through a remote wilderness, Anna Pigeon—serving as a medic in the disaster zone—finds herself trapped in the chaos long after the evacuation plans begin to unravel. As her team struggles to care for the injured and navigate dangerous terrain, a shocking discovery turns the emergency into something far more sinister: a murderer is hiding in plain sight. With survival depending on trust, quick thinking, and hard-won instincts, Anna must piece together a motive before the fire—and the killer—claim the last of their chances. Blending high-stakes suspense with Nevada Barr’s signature attention to the natural world, the novel explores fear, resilience, and the thin line between disaster response and moral reckoning.
