Description

When private investigator Spenser agrees to help April Kyle, a troubled young woman from his past, the case leads him from Boston’s criminal underworld to the isolated town of Lindell, Maine. There he encounters a brutal local power broker, a vulnerable woman caught in her family’s shadow, and a web of property dealings tied to organized crime. As violence closes in and the truth remains just out of reach, Spenser’s loyalty and fierce sense of justice drive him into increasingly dangerous confrontations. Combining hard-boiled action, sharp dialogue, and moral complexity, the novel explores friendship, exploitation, corruption, and the limits of personal vengeance.
