Description
In the prestigious King's Cavalla, the Speck plague has left few survivors, forcing many cadets to abandon their dreams of military service. Among the recovering, Nevare Burvelle experiences a remarkable recovery and believes he has vanquished the Speck magic that afflicted him. However, upon returning home, Nevare finds himself plagued by disturbing visions and a shameful side effect of the plague that alienates his family and fiancée. Caught between the allure of the Speck realm and his familiar world, Nevare discovers that his greatest threat may reside within himself as the magic he thought destroyed reawakens.
