Description
In the remote Swedish ski resort of Åre, the disappearance of a teenage girl casts a shadow over the start of the winter season—and when a body is discovered, the idyllic mountain community is forced to confront its darkest secrets. Suspended Stockholm police officer Hanna Ahlander arrives seeking refuge with her sister, but soon becomes drawn into the investigation led by local detective Daniel Lindskog. As the case exposes tensions beneath the resort’s polished surface, Hanna and Daniel must navigate buried resentments, fractured relationships, and the unforgiving Scandinavian wilderness. A gripping Nordic noir mystery, the novel combines atmospheric suspense with an incisive exploration of isolation, privilege, and the cost of silence.
