Description
This collection plunges into the lives of individuals yearning for escape, both from their circumstances and themselves. Through two novellas, 'Waiting for a Hurricane' and 'Sexual Education,' and a series of sharp, incisive short stories titled 'Worse Things,' the narrative explores themes of disillusionment, desire, and the search for identity. The stories are marked by a raw, unflinching gaze at the complexities of human connection and the quiet desperation that can simmer beneath ordinary lives. Margarita García Robayo's prose, masterfully translated by Charlotte Coombe, captures the palpable tension of lives on the brink, offering a potent and unforgettable reading experience.
