Shadowblack

Fantasy High Fantasy Epic Fantasy Coming of Age

Description

Four months after exile from his homeland, sixteen-year-old Kellen is an outlaw in the lawless Seven Sands, fleeing bounty hunters while searching for a cure to the shadowblack—a deadly affliction that marks him as cursed. Traveling with the enigmatic Argosi woman Ferius and her sharp-tongued squirrel-cat companion, Reichis, Kellen must survive without relying on the magic he was raised to wield. Their journey takes a dangerous turn when they encounter Seneira, a young woman suffering from the shadowblack despite having no magical ability, challenging everything Kellen has been taught about the condition. Blending fast-paced adventure, vivid world-building, and sharp humor, the novel explores identity, prejudice, friendship, and the struggle to find one’s place beyond the rules of a rigid society.
