Ian McEwan

Ian McEwan is a British novelist and screenwriter who began with sparse, Gothic short stories. His early novels The Cement Garden and The Comfort of Strangers earned him the nickname "Ian Macabre," and he later won the Booker Prize with Amsterdam. Atonement, a historical and war novel, became an Oscar-winning film, and his later books include The Children Act, Nutshell and Machines Like Me. His latest, What We Can Know, is about climate change.
