Description
When a tornado rips through Painters Mill, it exposes human remains and draws Police Chief Kate Burkholder into a decades-old mystery. As she traces the evidence back into the Amish community she once called home, Kate uncovers buried secrets and signs that the death was the result of a devastating crime rather than a natural tragedy. Her investigation is complicated by a dangerous unknown enemy and growing strain in her relationship with state agent John Tomasetti. Blending psychological suspense, tightly held family secrets, and the tension of a divided past, this gripping thriller follows Kate as she confronts both an unimaginable atrocity and the demons she has fought to leave behind.
