Description
In contemporary Moscow, a hidden world of supernatural beings—shape shifters, vampires, and sorcerers—operates in the shadows, bound by an ancient covenant between the forces of Light and Dark. For a thousand years, two opposing factions have maintained a fragile balance: the Night Watch guards the darkness while their counterparts protect the day. When a mid-level Night Watch agent discovers a cursed young woman with extraordinary untapped potential, both sides recognize her as the prophesied supreme Other who could shatter the equilibrium and reshape their world. What follows is an electrifying collision of supernatural intrigue, moral ambiguity, and high-stakes conflict that threatens to consume an entire city. Sergei Lukyanenko's debut in this groundbreaking fantasy series pulses with darkly inventive worldbuilding and explores the eternal tension between freedom and responsibility, power and consequence.
