Description
Set against the upheaval of postexilic Jerusalem, this historical novel follows Nehemiah as he leaves his position as cupbearer to King Artaxerxes and answers a daunting call to rebuild the city’s broken walls. Alongside the people returning from exile, he faces political opposition, hardship, and the challenge of restoring not only Jerusalem but also the community’s relationship with God. Drawing on the biblical books of Ezra and Nehemiah, the story explores courage, perseverance, faith under oppression, and the power of families and communities united by a shared purpose. Rich in historical detail and spiritual insight, it brings the world of Scripture vividly to life.
