The Pyramid

Mystery Detective Fiction Short Stories Noir

Description

This prequel to the Kurt Wallander series traces the detective’s formative years, from his early days as a young patrolman to the cases that shape him into the methodical, instinctive investigator readers know. Across five interconnected mysteries, Wallander confronts crimes involving family danger, poisoning, murder, and a puzzling aerial disappearance, while his personal life evolves alongside his career. The collection offers a compelling portrait of character in the making, exploring justice, persistence, aging, and the uneasy complexity of ordinary lives. With its atmospheric Swedish settings and sharply observed police work, it provides essential insight into one of modern crime fiction’s most enduring detectives.
