Mystery Detective Fiction Noir

Description

In the depths of a Wyoming winter, Sheriff Walt Longmire is asked to investigate the apparent suicide of Detective Gerald Holman, an old friend of his former boss. What begins as a mercy case soon raises troubling questions when Walt discovers that the by-the-book detective may have concealed crucial evidence. Battling the unforgiving high-plains weather and a rapidly approaching deadline—the birth of his first grandchild—Walt must uncover the truth before the case is closed for good. Blending gritty mystery, dry humor, and a vivid sense of place, the novel explores friendship, duty, and the hidden consequences of a life spent enforcing the law.
