Description
On Christmas Eve, Sheriff Walt Longmire and his old friend Lucian Connally are drawn into the story of a desperate 1988 rescue mission, when a young girl’s life depended on reaching a hospital through a deadly Wyoming blizzard. The unlikely hope was Steamboat, a battered World War II bomber, and the aging pilot who once flew a similar aircraft over Japan as a Doolittle Raider. Blending suspense, humor, and heartfelt remembrance, this atmospheric holiday novella explores courage, loyalty, enduring friendship, and the powerful bonds between Wyoming’s people and its unforgiving landscape.
