The Scythian Empire
Description
This sweeping history reexamines the Scythians not as scattered nomadic raiders, but as architects of a powerful empire whose influence stretched across the Eurasian steppes, Central Asia, Persia, and early China. Drawing on historical, linguistic, and cultural evidence, it traces the development of Scythian imperial traditions, royal lineages, political institutions, and capital cities across a vast interconnected world. The book also explores how Scythian ideas shaped the Persian Empire, the first Chinese empires, and the intellectual traditions of the classical age. Provocative and wide-ranging, it offers a new perspective on Central Eurasia as a dynamic center of innovation and state formation.
